A generous two bedroom apartment in the Victorian wing
The Buck suite was the first apartment to be renovated, so we thought it only fitting to name it in honour of the man who built the house originally, George Buck.
The area used to be the home of the Matron at Grenville College, and for a while it was known as the Sanitarium. It is a lovely bright and airy two-bedroom apartment, on the first floor of the Victorian wing, with high ceilings and original Victorian sash windows.
Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, with baths and shower and ample storage. The second bedroom has a double and a single bed, so can be used as a second master, a family room or children's room, with optional cots and toddler beds available by arrangement.
The apartment takes its Edwardian decor inspiration from a stained glass door, lovingly restored at the workshop in Bideford's pannier market. There is a fully equipped open plan kitchen with large breakfast bar, and when the evenings draw in, there's a cosy woodburning stove to sit around.
There are views over to the cliff tops of Westward Ho! and to Moreton woods and Moreton Park, with glimpses of the old Moreton Folly sometimes possible, depending on how leafy the trees are. Please note that this apartment is on the first floor, accessible only via stairs, and will remain a pet-free apartment (pets are more than welcome in our ground floor apartments).
